Ikimono-gakari - Toki wo Kakeru Shojou

Ok so in 2006, Madhouse released this anime by a little known director. The anime was based on a novel with a huge following in Japan. Both the novel and the anime are called The Girl Who Leapt Through Time or, in Japanese, Toki wo Kakeru Shojou. The anime turned out to be a huge success and opened doors for our little known director.

Now, this PV has nothing to do with that anime and everything to do with that novel and the live-action movie it spawned way back in 1983. Ikimono-gakari comes back to give us a fresh take on Toki wo Kakeru Shojou, a song originally performed by Tomoyo Harada for the 1983 movie. Ikimono-gakari's Toki wo Kakeru Shojou serves as an insert song with the real theme song being Nostalgia, also by Ikimono-gakari which they originally sang during their indie days. Both songs are major tracks in their latest single to be released on March 10, 2010, so watch out for that date. :)

The PV for Toki wa Kakeru Shojou features montage scenes from the 2010 live-action film, starring Riisa Naka. We all know her for voicing the role of Makoto in the anime. She also plays the lead in the live-action movie but not necessarily the same part. Anyway, the movie really looks interesting and I cannot wait to see it.
